BUCKSHOT MACHINE

BUCKSHOT MACHINE

Buckshot is also lead ball as leadshot. Technically the lead ball called buckshot starting from 4,00 mm. diameter. The most popular buckshot diameters are: 4,50mm. 6,00mm. 6,40mm. 7,20mm. 8,00mm. 8,60mm. Buckshot can not be produced by bleimiester method. There are three methods to produce buckshot: casting, injection and swaging.

Casting buckshot is possible by using some simple molds. These molds can be used manually. Also there are some automatic machines available to produce cast buckshots. By this method the buckshot will have the molding sign on it.

Metal injection is another method to produce also. But the power of the injection machine must be enough to fill the mold. Also the cooling system and heat of the melted lead are very important. This method is very sensetive and hard to control. Also the industry use this method very rarely.

The most popular and reliable method to produce buckshot is swaging. Leadwire is used as the initial material and molds form the round lead ball. Because there is no melted lead the worker safety and human health issues are better.
